The research activity aims to enhance the already-installed optic telecommunications network by integrating innovative fiber‑sensing technologies, with the goal of turning the fiber network into an intelligent and pervasive sensor capable of monitoring not only human activities and natural events, but also the integrity and safety of the network infrastructure itself. In particular, the activity involves the study and field application of innovative fiber‑optic monitoring systems characterized by sustainable solutions in terms of cost, energy consumption, and impact on the network infrastructure. Quality, originality, and innovation of the research proposal, with reference to the research program covered by this selection (up to 20 points) Relevance and significance of previous research activities and professional experience in relation to the research program (up to 20 points) Relevance of submitted publications with respect to the research program (up to 20 points) Interview, aimed at assessing the candidate’s research aptitude, their ability to implement the proposed project, and their knowledge of English and/or other relevant languages for the research (up to 40 points) Eligibility of Fellows: Country/ies of Residence
