Work Designation. Depending on your location within the continental US, this role may be

If you live within 50 miles of the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC, this role will be

hybrid . This means you will be expected to work in the office for at least 60% of the work week. You will work from your home (within the continental US) for the remaining portion of the work week. Details of this schedule will be discussed with your leadership.

If you live more than 50 miles from the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC, this role will be

remote . This means you will be expected to work from your home, within the continental US. If the role is remote, there may be occasions that you are requested to come to the office based on business need. Any requests to come to the office would be communicated with you in advance.

What does it take to be successful in this role?

Solid practical knowledge of investments and/or derivatives, fixed income and equity pricing, and portfolio valuation

Demonstrated technical proficiency with financial software and data analysis tools; or

Demonstrated ability to perform some database or data warehouse tasks and/or execute data extracts or reports utilizing native functions or external query tools / applications (MS Power BI, Qlik, etc.); or

Demonstrated ability to perform some programming of valuation models, and at a minimum utilizing tools such as Excel (macros) and market data from providers such as Bloomberg, LSEG/Refinitiv, etc.

Demonstrated ability to perform tasks and manage process workflow steps in and among integrated or standalone investment or market data platforms to meet functional requirements and deadlines

Intermediate knowledge of Bloomberg, LSEG Refinitiv, and/or ICE Data Services products and API functions

Strong attention to detail

Strong analytical / quantitative skills and problem-solving skills

Ability to run or otherwise utilize quantitative, statistical, mathematical, and/or computational financial models to generate independent fair valuations to include, but not requiring, prior experience in model development, risk, valuation, and model validation and implementation for Foreign Exchange, Fixed Income and OTC derivatives

Familiarity with one or more programming languages (e.g. Python, R, SQL, C++, etc.) preferred

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills to effectively interact with peers, management, and internal customers, and external vendor representatives

Education & Required

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Computational Finance, Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or other quantitatively intensive field

Six years of professional job-related work experience

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Education & Experience Preferred

Graduate degree or work toward an MBA or a graduate degree

Progress toward or willingness to work toward Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, CPA, or other similar professional designation

Financial institution (bank, investment bank, mutual fund, insurance company, etc.) experience in similar or related capacity (pricing control, pricing operations, data management, investment accounting, etc.)

Travel Less than or equal to 10%

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Draws on solid knowledge of investments and/or derivatives, fixed income and equity pricing and portfolio valuation to execute the duties of the position, under general direction

Completes daily and monthly valuation processes (pricing) for Aflac’s $100+ billion investment portfolio

May apply knowledge of mathematical, financial, and/or computational principles to assist in development and implementation of quantitative valuation models

May maintain securities of interest (SoI) lists/tables in external and internal resources to facilitate automated and manual data feeds to pricing data warehouses and downstream applications

May maintain, adjust and/or monitor data feeds for accuracy and completeness and proactively addresses exceptions or service issues

Assists with review and analysis of practices, policies and procedures for portfolio valuation and performance measurement

Prepares and maintains on-going documentation efforts related to valuation and performance measurement policies, internal controls, processes and results

Interacts with other areas in Investments, such as Portfolio Managers, Risk Management, Compliance, Finance and Analytics to integrate and streamline applicable valuation and performance measurement processes

Assists with the reporting of fair value accounting (i.e. Topic 820, formerly FAS 157, etc.)

Assists with preparation and documentation for an officer-level Valuation and Pricing Committee focusing on key pricing and valuation initiatives and decisions

Performs due diligence and process reviews with various third-party valuation service providers, in addition to other external and internal pricing sources

Participates in special projects and performs analyses as requested by management

Performs other duties as required

Total Rewards The salary range for this job is $90,000 - $130,000. This range is specific to the job and salary offers consider a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and peer compensation. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting.

At Aflac, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role to allow for future and continued salary growth, and compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate.
