Job Description Primary Function The Loan Officer's primary role is to sell loan products offered by NewRez. Responsibilities include contacting prospective clients, developing referral sources, and meeting with clients at various locations. Incumbents may work from any listed location; coverage is not required for all locations. Develop a network for mortgage loan business growth. Manage and market to a customer database. Educate potential borrowers and real estate professionals about products and services, and deliver presentations as needed. Complete loan applications, communicate with applicants, and resolve application questions. Perform prequalification assessments within credit policies and regulations. Negotiate loan rates, terms, and conditions. Lock loans timely and correctly to avoid fall-out. Collect upfront fees from applicants. Submit complete loan applications and coordinate with processing centers. Input loans into AUS systems like DU or LP for underwriting decisions. Assist with processing, underwriting, and closing issues. Stay informed on industry, market, and competitive trends. Represent the company in community and civic functions. Apply decision-making techniques adhering to policies and regulations. Maintain compliance on all loan files and pipelines. Perform other duties as assigned. Education and Experience Active state MLO license in each state of operation. High school diploma or GED required. Strong PC skills including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Lotus Notes. Knowledge of local real estate markets. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to plan, anticipate problems, and identify risks. Strong negotiation and customer service skills. Effective communication and relationship-building abilities. Ability to demonstrate integrity, respect, and professionalism. Resilience and optimism in achieving goals.
