Tax Senior Manager, Core Tax Services - Corporate Focus . Job Overview The Core Tax Services Senior Manager advises clients on tax implications, evaluates and recommends actions to reduce tax burdens, and acts as the primary contact for complex tax issues. Responsibilities include understanding potential tax issues, communicating risks, and making high-level decisions on filings and resolutions with federal and state agencies. The role also involves leadership in marketing, networking, and business development within your area of expertise, maintaining client relationships, and guiding team members. Key Responsibilities Tax Compliance:
Ensure client compliance with authorities, minimize tax and reporting burdens, review tax returns, and resolve issues. Research:
Identify research needs, frame issues clearly, and report analyses; train team members in research skills. Tax Accruals (ASC 740-10):
Apply firm policies and standards, review tax provisions, and explain tax components to clients. Tax Consulting:
Develop strategies to maximize client benefits and decrease taxes, manage inquiries, and assist with protests. Tax Specialization:
Deepen expertise in specific tax areas, train others, and participate in external training. Strategy Development:
Innovate and suggest improvements, lead marketing efforts, and present strategies to clients. Supervisory Responsibilities Supervise and review work of associates and senior associates. Train team members on software tools and act as a career mentor. Manage workload and provide performance feedback. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred. Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, supervisory experience required. CPA, Attorney, or EA certification required. Skills & Abilities Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and tax research software. Ability to develop client relationships and lead teams effectively. Compensation Salary ranges vary by location, e.g., California: $146,000 - $200,000; NYC/Long Island/Westchester: $175,000 - $205,000; Washington: $158,400 - $215,400.
