Job Description:
A stealth biotech company seeks a highly motivated individual for the position of Senior Director, Program Team Leader for the lead asset. This role involves strategic management of program development activities, acting as the program spokesperson, and being accountable for team deliverables. The individual will lead the program team to develop strategies, timelines, budgets, and milestones, while identifying challenges and risks and developing mitigation plans. The role also includes building collaborative cross-functional planning with stakeholders, shaping the company's Program and Portfolio strategy, and mentoring emerging leaders. This is a highly visible and critical role, contributing significantly to the company.
Responsibilities:
Serve as a spokesperson for the program and remain accountable for team deliverables.
Collaborate with core team members to develop and drive program strategies, model scenario plans, and prepare presentations.
Identify challenge points and opportunities for program acceleration proactively.
Communicate functional strategies effectively and foster strong relationships across teams.
Build operational plans for the program, including alternative and backup scenarios with critical path activities and inter-linkages.
Work proactively with teams to integrate activities cross-functionally.
Monitor progress against strategies, raise issues, and recommend resolutions.
Drive annual operating budget planning and track actuals against budgets, communicating deviations.
Create and manage key program documentation such as the Program Development Plan (PDP), monthly reports, and budget summaries.
Required Skills:
Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.
PhD (preferred), BS/MS in a scientific discipline.
2-4+ years of experience leading multi-disciplinary development teams, with prior involvement in biologics development programs.
Project management and leadership training.
Effective leadership skills with an executive presence and strong relationship-building abilities.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all organizational levels.
Ability to operate effectively in an entrepreneurial, science-driven environment; self-motivated and assertive.
Strong understanding of drug development strategies across disciplines, including nonclinical, clinical, CMC, RA/QA, and commercial strategy, with knowledge of GXP and compliance requirements.
Proficiency in traditional program management principles.
Must be able to work on-site Monday – Friday.
