Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) Status:

Full-Time Qualifications

Current California RN license with minimum two (2) years prior experience in a long-term care facility with working knowledge of Title 22, OBRA and other regulations and operating knowledge of Electronic Medical Records preferred. Must pass nursing medical test and have current BLS certification. The ADON is second in command of the Skilled Nursing Facility. Will work closely with the Director of Nursing (DON) to improve the quality of patient care and services provided by staff members. In the DONs absence, will oversee the entire team ensuring quality customer service and compliance with all federal, state and local rules and regulations, as well as the policies and procedures set by the District related to skilled nursing. The ADON will be involved in hiring and training of staff members. Maintains performance improvement activities for Nursing Services and participates in Quality Improvement activities. When not performing ADON duties, will act as RN Charge Nurse and will be responsible for managing, supervising and assisting the nursing staff, as well as providing administrative support and resident care. Must be able to effectively communicate in English; both verbal and written. Must have good interpersonal skills and interface professionally, tactfully and respectfully with residents, staff, general public and governmental agency reps. Mid-level computer skills required.
