Position Summary The Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategies for subscription and exhibit sales, overseeing exhibit operations, and managing Annual Meeting registration. This position ensures effective operations across subscription services, registration services, and meeting exhibits. Key responsibilities include: Sales & Strategy: Develop and implement sales strategies for institutional subscriptions and conference exhibits. Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and evaluate staff; set goals, objectives, and performance standards. Membership & Customer Service: Coordinate with the Membership Manager to provide customer service and data entry support; troubleshoot subscriber issues with Atypon in collaboration with IT; serve as primary liaison with subscriber agencies (e.g., USACO); ensure accuracy of subscriber communications and related web content. Database & Reporting: Serve as liaison and administrator for the iMIS database with staff and external consultants; generate subscription, licensing, billing, and claim reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly); oversee AJR back issue, eTOC, and inventory management; prepare GST reports. Annual Review: Review and update subscriber, registration, and exhibitor fees annually with supervisor input. Exhibit Management: Oversee all aspects of ARRS Annual Meeting exhibits, including prospecting, promotion,application processing, booth assignments, exhibitor communications, on-site management, and post-meeting evaluation. Conference & Registration Management: Set up conferences (in-person/virtual) in iMIS; prepare registration templates and reports; ensure data accuracy; manage registration logistics, staffing, and on-site operations; oversee preparation and distribution of registration materials. Event Participation: Attend Annual Meeting planning sessions; manage registration area operations; supervise staff and temporary personnel. Representation & Travel: Travel domestically and internationally as required to represent ARRS. Other Duties: Perform additional responsibilities as assigned. Skills & Competencies Sales & Business Development: Demonstrated ability to develop and execute sales strategies. Skilled at cultivating and maintaining relationships with institutions, agencies, corporate partners, and members to drive revenue growth. Exhibit & Sponsorship Management: Familiarity with commercial meeting exhibit processes and procedures; experience managing exhibitor communications, applications, logistics, and sales of exhibit and sponsorship packages. Subscription Management: Knowledge of periodical subscription structures and cycles, including direct experience working with institutions and subscription agencies; proven ability to upsell and expand accounts. Registration Management: In-depth understanding of conference registration processes and procedures, including setup and administration for online, print, and on-site systems; experience promoting registration and achieving salesgoals. Project & Time Management: Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while balancing sales and operational priorities. Problem-Solving & Communication: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively; excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage prospective and current customers. Data & Reporting: Proven ability to maintain accuracy in data processing, generate sales and performance reports, and respond to internal and external queries in a timely and professional manner. Technical Proficiency: Skilled with Microsoft Office applications, internet-based platforms, and association management databases. Must be proficient in iMIS with expertise in subscription, meeting, and exhibits modules, and a working knowledge of the membership interface. Leadership: Experience managing direct reports, including setting sales and performance goals, providing feedback, and evaluating results. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred. Three to five years of related association or nonprofit experience. Previous supervisory experience is preferred. Ability and willingness to travel domestically to represent ARRS, pursue sales opportunities, and support meetings as needed.
