Role Responsibilities

  • Develop and ensure execution of clear medical affairs strategies for the U.S. and Canada, aligned with business and brand objectives.
  • Lead teams to shape and adapt global strategies to address in-market needs for North America, ensuring customer needs are met.
  • Provide Medical leadership across North America functional partners to drive in-market product strategy, disease positioning, and projects.
  • Define and lead disease awareness initiatives, publication planning, advisory boards, and investigator-sponsored research (IITs).
  • Drive post-marketing strategy and provide strategic input into late-stage clinical development.
  • Represent the company in industry forums, patient advocacy groups, and scientific/clinical expert groups as needed.
  • Facilitate cross-functional alignment with R&D, Commercial, and Global Medical Affairs to support pipeline and lifecycle success for SpringWorks and EMD Serono products.
  • Lead and develop two high-performing medical affairs teams (SpringWorks NA and EMD Serono).
  • Set strategic objectives, manage performance, coach talent, and ensure resource allocation and budget management.
  • Ensure launch readiness and contribute to global and regional medical and publication plans.
  • Establish relationships with key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, and advocacy groups at national and international levels.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Role Requirements

  • Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD required)
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in Medical Affairs or related functions, including global and regional roles
  • 7+ years of people leadership, including 3+ years managing multiple functions or teams
  • Track record of taking products from late-stage development through launch and lifecycle management
  • Experience designing and executing medical affairs strategies, including post-approval clinical protocols
  • Experience building and leading medical teams in dynamic environments
  • Deep understanding of health economics, outcomes research, and health technology assessment
  • Strong experience in building KOL networks nationally and internationally
  • Ability to lead large teams and develop leaders of leaders
  • Knowledge of SOPs and regulatory frameworks (FDA, PhRMA, OIG, etc.)
  • Strong collaboration across external partnerships and cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of clinical research methodology and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) preferred
  • Understanding of NA regulatory, medical, and economic environments
  • Knowledge of real-world evidence generation, medical information, and commercialization support
  • Strong business planning, data analysis, and budget management
  • Executive-level understanding of the commercial, clinical, and regulatory aspects of the pharmaceutical industry
  • Ability to translate complex scientific concepts into actionable strategies
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required

Compensation & Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is $450,000.00 – $500,000.00. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and company performance. We offer comprehensive benefits; additional information can be found in the Benefits section.
