Role Description
InterCommunity Health Care is seeking a board‑certified physician leader to serve as Medical Director. This role provides clinical leadership and oversight to physicians, nurse practitioners, and other licensed providers across integrated adult and pediatric primary care, behavioral health, and addiction services within an FQHC environment. The Medical Director is a member of the Senior Leadership Team and is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high‑quality, evidence‑based, and patient‑centered care across all clinical programs. This position blends executive leadership with hands‑on clinical practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care while serving as the senior clinical leader across programs
- Lead peer review, quality assurance, and quality improvement initiatives
- Oversee provider onboarding, clinical supervision, and professional development
- Consult on complex clinical cases and support coverage planning
- Conduct routine and targeted chart audits to evaluate quality and compliance
- Ensure compliance with HRSA, Joint Commission, PCMH, DPH, DMHAS, and other regulatory standards
- Collaborate with executive leadership on clinical strategy, performance improvement, and risk management
Qualifications
- MD or DO required
- Board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
- Candidates with strong integrated or pediatric experience are encouraged to apply
- Active or eligible Connecticut medical license
- Demonstrated clinical leadership experience
- Experience in community health, integrated care, or FQHC settings preferred
- Experience with EPIC or similar EHR systems preferred
