Medical Director of CPEP & Vice Chair
Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is hiring a Medical Director of CPEP & Vice Chair to serve at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi in the Bronx. The position is full‑time and best suited for a licensed New York psychiatrist with demonstrated clinical and leadership experience in an emergency psychiatry setting.
Position Overview
As director, you will oversee all clinical and administrative activities within the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP), ensuring the delivery of high‑quality patient care and continuous performance improvement. You will report to the Chairperson and lead initiatives in community liaison, public health advocacy, and quality improvement across the institution.
Key Responsibilities
- Directly and indirectly supervise psychiatrists and psychiatric PA staff.
- Participate in the administrative and consultative management of complex cases.
- Coordinate the scheduling of psychiatric and PA coverage.
- Collect and analyze data integral to quality control.
- Maintain collaborative relationships with services inside and outside the Department of Psychiatry to ensure high‑quality care for CPEP patients.
- Review and revise guidelines for standards of care to ensure the CPEP meets or exceeds OMH requirements.
- Takes leadership in hospital and corporate quality improvement measures.
- Provide leadership and teaching to undergraduate medical, PA, NP, and addiction fellows.
- Collaborate with the Medical and Pediatric Emergency Departments.
Qualifications
- Eligible for license in the state of New York.
- ABMS Board Certified or Board eligible.
- Graduated from an ACGME or AOA approved training program.
- 2+ years of psychiatric ER or CPEP experience.
- Superior clinical, diagnostic, interpersonal/communication, and team‑building skills.
- Previous administrative or leadership experience.
Compensation & Benefits
Annual Base Salary: $349,000 (based on a 40‑hour work week). The estimated annual total value of the compensation package is $420,200, including a projected bonus up to $40,000 contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
