About the Role
The Company is seeking a Deputy Executive Director (Programme) to join its senior leadership team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic and technical leadership in the management and communication of the organization's program and humanitarian response. This role is pivotal in upholding the company's normative role and mandate, particularly in the areas of sexual and reproductive health and rights, and in driving the strategic direction of the program and humanitarian portfolio. The Deputy Executive Director (Programme) will also be tasked with building and maintaining partnerships with various stakeholders, including UN and bilateral agencies, to ensure the effective implementation of the company's mandate in development and humanitarian settings.
Candidates for this role should have an advanced degree in public health, social sciences, or a related discipline, with a strong preference for additional qualifications in business or public administration/management. A minimum of 20 years' professional experience, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership capacity, is required, particularly in the management of large-scale development and humanitarian programs. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in resource mobilization, shaping financing strategies, and utilizing demographic data to inform rights-based policies. Experience in high-level advocacy, negotiation, and policy dialogue, as well as a strong network of strategic partnerships, is essential. The role demands a leader with a commitment to the values of the organization, including integrity, cultural diversity, and a dedication to the UN system.
