Job Description

Medical Director of Structural Heart Opportunity in Danbury, Connecticut (60 miles from New York City). Danbury Hospital, part of Northwell Health, is seeking a Medical Director of Structural Heart to join our Heart and Vascular Institute in Danbury, Connecticut. The ideal candidate will be board certified in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology, with post‑fellowship training experience in Structural Heart. The candidate will have a minimum of 5‑8 years of experience post‑fellowship and previous leadership experience is a plus.

Danbury Hospital’s Emergency Department is an accredited Level II Trauma Center, Stroke Center, and Chest Pain Center, offering 24‑hour interventional cardiology. Cardiac services at the hospital include Nuclear Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, an Arrhythmia Center, and a Cardiac Surgery Program with TAVR.

Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership & Program Development

  • Establish clinical protocols, guidelines, and best practices for structural heart interventions, and drive innovation and adoption of new technologies and procedures.
  • Lead multidisciplinary heart team meetings and case selection conferences.

Quality & Outcomes

  • Establish and monitor quality metrics and clinical outcomes, including oversight of data collection and submission to national registries.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Recruit and retain specialized structural heart team members and provide leadership and training opportunities for support staff.

Strategic Planning & Growth

  • Develop strategic plans for program growth, expand referral networks, and collaborate with marketing on promotion and outreach.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with members of the Heart and Vascular Institute as well as other departments and hospital administration.

Compensation

We offer a highly competitive compensation package, including base salary plus incentives and generous allowances for CMEs and dues expenses as well as relocation allowance.

Location

Danbury, Connecticut, located in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains and near Westchester and Putnam Counties in New York. Danbury is about 60 miles northeast of New York City and offers proximity to city culture as well as a wide array of four‑season recreational activities. Fairfield County provides diverse housing options and highly rated public and private schools.
