What you’ll do
- Responsible for managing assigned Providers in a collaborative and positive way while meeting quality outcomes and productivity measurements.
- Providing medical direction for the day‑to‑day operations of Urgent Care, Occupational Medicine and Employee Health Services.
- Ensuring effective communication among all stakeholders.
- Ensuring medical records are completed in accordance with Medical Staff and SHMG policy.
- Working with the Providers and managers to schedule coverage as needed.
- Completing performance evaluations of Providers.
- Participating in protocol, process, and continuous improvement as needed.
- Provide medical care customarily delivered by an Urgent Care clinician to patients of all ages 4 months and up.
- Devoting full attention and effort to patient care, fulfilling daily responsibilities as required by Salem Health.
- Consulting with and responding to physicians, patients, third‑party administrators, and payors regarding tests, studies, certifications, or procedures.
- Maintaining accurate and compliant clinical records and reports in accordance with state and federal requirements.
- Fulfilling and maintaining CME credits as required by regulatory agencies, licensing boards, or malpractice carriers.
- Implementing, overseeing, and communicating new quality initiatives and is responsible for setting and monitoring the achievement of Provider productivity standards.
- Working under the supervision and direction of the SHMG ACMO to develop and review clinical policies, guidelines and protocols; ensure current and ongoing compliance for HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.
- Participating in the improvement of patient care processes and Epic coding to ensure accurate and complete coding is utilized.
Required qualifications
You may be a qualified MD/DO candidate if you:
- Hold a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school. Completion of an ACGME‑or AOA‑accredited residency.
- Are board certified or board eligible in Urgent Care, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine.
- Are eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of Oregon. Current DEA certification.
- Have a minimum of 3 years of relevant clinical experience.
You may be a qualified Physician Associate candidate if you:
- Have graduated from a Physician Associate program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Associate (ARC‑PA) or its predecessors.
- Have passed the Physician Associate National Certifying Examination and are certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Associate.
- Current Physician Associate license in good standing issued by the Oregon Medical Board.
- Hold DEA certification.
- Successful completion of the Physician Associate National Certifying Examination.
- Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Associates.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in relevant setting.
You may be a qualified Nurse Practitioner candidate if you:
- Possess a Master’s Degree or higher in Nursing, or in a field deemed to be equivalent by the Oregon Board of Nursing.
- Have satisfactorily completed a Nurse Practitioner Program recognized by the Oregon Board of Nursing.
- Hold a current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the State of Oregon.
- Hold valid, unencumbered Nurse Practitioner national certification issued American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or National Certification Corporation (NCC), or an equivalent Medicare/Medicaid approved certifying body or be actively seeking certification and obtain the same in the specialty area requested within 24 months of privileges being granted at Salem Hospital.
- Hold DEA certification.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in relevant setting.
