Summary
The Director supports lobbying efforts with Congress, the Administration, Agencies, and industry stakeholders on business-related issues including tax, credit, commodity markets, and international trade.
Essential Functions
- Works with the lobby team to engage with Congress, the Administration, and federal agencies.
- Research and analyze regulations and legislation that may affect the business-focused aspects of cattle production, marketing, and trade.
- Assist in the drafting comments and messaging related to NCBA policy.
- Monitor Congressional hearings and communicate developments to NCBA members.
- Assist in managing NCBA working groups and stakeholder engagement.
- Assist in planningBA Committee meetings including logistics and agenda.
- Actively participate in staff meetings and collaborate with colleagues in the office.
- Work and coordinate with NCBA staff on legislative and regulatory issues.
- Participate and assist with NCBA meetings and conventions.
- Occasional business travel and extended work hours required.
- Other job duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics, agribusiness, or a related field are preferable. Candidate should possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills, knowledge of the legislative process, and excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Preference will be given to candidates who have a working knowledge of, and/or experience in, livestock/agriculture industries.
