This newly created position emerges from the company’s strong growth trajectory and offers the chance to lead, refine, and elevate operations during a dynamic period of expansion. The role will be fully onsite at the Dry Ridge, Kentucky facility.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Reporting directly to the President and CEO, the Director of Accounting and Finance is a key strategic partner to the business bringing leadership and excellent judgement combined with technical skills to drive operational and financial success. As a member of the Executive Team, the Director of Accounting and Finance will manage all aspects of the monthly close process and financial reporting, develop accurate budgets and cash flow forecasts, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and contribute to strategic financial decision‑making to drive the on‑going success of the company. This role has a team of four direct reports. This role also performs:

  • Accounting – Manage all accounting operations including accounts receivable, accounts payable, prepaids, fixed assets, accruals, other liabilities, inventory accounting including floor plan financing, revenue recognition, and payroll. Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes. Prepare monthly financial statements in a timely manner. Own and manage audits for financial statements, benefit plans, and taxes. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Budgeting & Forecasting – Create annual budgets and periodic forecasts as required with sufficient detail to allow accountability and inform decisions for individuals on the Executive team.
  • Compliance & Regulatory Oversight – Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local tax laws. Manage relationships with accounting firms and other regulatory agencies.
  • Cash Flow Management – Develop and optimize cash flow planning ensuring that liquidity is always sufficient to meet operational needs.
  • Data Analytics & Business Intelligence – Use financial and market data analytics to inform strategic decision‑making. Develop operational and financial metrics and bring focus to them in meetings with the Executive team.
  • Banking & Lender Relations – Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions for all banking services, credit lines, loans, etc.
  • Team Leadership – Lead a high‑performance team through setting clear expectations, use of meaningful metrics, mentoring, and strong interpersonal professional relationships.

IDEAL CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience (dealership experience preferred but not required).
  • 5+ years of experience successfully leading and managing accounting teams with the ability to develop and motivate them to achieve superior levels of performance.
  • Professional certification (CPA, CMA) preferred but not required
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data filters, and sorts)
  • Experience with streamlining accounting and finance processes.
