Executive Director
AWeSOMe! (Adaptive Wilderness Sports of McCall) McCall, Idaho 3/4-time $34,257.60
AWeSOMe! empowers people with disabilities through year‑round adaptive outdoor recreation in the mountains of central Idaho. Since 2001, we’ve grown from a small ski program into a comprehensive organization offering alpine and Nordic skiing, kayaking, hiking, adaptive cycling, and more—all delivered by experienced instructors and passionate volunteers.
The Opportunity
We’re seeking an Executive Director to lead AWeSOMe! into its next chapter of growth. This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of a well‑established, small‑but‑mighty nonprofit with strong community support, engaged volunteers, and families who love what we do. You’ll work directly with an active Board of Directors to enhance programs, strengthen operations, grow our funding base, and position AWeSOMe! as a regional leader in adaptive sports.
You won’t just manage—you’ll be the face of AWeSOMe! in the community, a champion for participants, and an advocate for accessible outdoor recreation. If you’re entrepreneurial, hands‑on, and passionate about the outdoors and inclusion, this role is for you.
What You’ll Do
Strategic Leadership
Lead strategic planning, organizational development, and growth initiatives. Position AWeSOMe! for long‑term sustainability while maintaining our community‑focused culture.
Fundraising & Development
Design and execute fundraising strategies including grant writing, donor cultivation, and signature events. Build relationships with funders and achieve annual revenue goals.
Operations & Programs
Oversee operations, program delivery, volunteer management, and staff supervision. Ensure high‑quality, safe adaptive programs year‑round. Manage budgets, equipment, marketing, and partnerships with Brundage Mountain Resort, Tamarack Resort and other partners and venues.
Community Engagement
Serve as AWeSOMe!’s primary spokesperson and ambassador. Build partnerships, represent us at conferences, and make our mission visible in our communities, throughout Idaho and beyond.
Board Relations
Work collaboratively with the Board on governance, strategic direction, and reporting. Prepare professional updates on finances, programs, and organizational progress.
