Our client is a well‑funded, stealth‑mode biotechnology company advancing next‑generation biologics to transform patient outcomes in high‑unmet disease areas, specifically, in Women’s Health and Pain Disorders.
Objectives
The Director (Senior) of Corporate Development will serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and executive leadership team, helping drive operational excellence, strategic alignment, and execution across the organization. In a fast‑paced and small biotechnology environment, this hire will play a critical role in coordinating cross‑functional initiatives spanning investor relations, G&A, R&D, clinical development and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the CEO to define, prioritize, and execute strategic initiatives aligned with company goals.
- Prepare briefing materials, presentations, and reports for board meetings, investors, and key stakeholders. Support board and investor communications, including data synthesis and narrative development.
- Translate high‑level strategy into clear operational plans, milestones, and KPIs. Track progress on key initiatives and proactively identify risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies. Coordinate and align efforts across functions, requiring excellent communication skills and cross‑functional working.
- Facilitate executive and leadership team meetings, including agenda setting, decision tracking, and follow‑up.
- Support organizational design, headcount planning, and G&A activities as needed.
- Lead or support high‑priority initiatives such as fundraising, partnerships, M&A diligence, external communications, or major regulatory milestones. Conduct research and competitive analysis related to the biotech landscape, pipeline strategy, and market trends.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, PhD, MD, or MS in life sciences related field) desired.
- 7–12+ years of experience in biotech, life sciences, management consulting, strategy, operations, or a related field, working in a Corporate Development or Chief of Staff capacity.
- Proven experience working closely with senior executives and leadership teams.
- Strong understanding of the biotechnology value chain.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of driving complex initiatives to completion.
- High emotional intelligence and ability to influence without authority. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage ambiguity, prioritize competing demands, and operate in a fast‑moving environment.
- Discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
