The Director, Project Management Office (PMO) - East Coast is responsible for overseeing both project management and project coordination functions within the East region (USA). This role provides strategic leadership, project governance, and P&L responsibility to drive business growth and ensure successful delivery of integration projects. The Director works closely with Sales and Operations Teams to ensure strong project-level leadership and consistent execution aligned with Solotech’s standards.

Your day will look like this:

  • Strategic Alignment & Prioritization : Collaborate with senior leadership to define project priorities, ensuring all projects and programs align with the organization’s strategic goals and deliver maximum value
  • PMO Roadmap Management : Manage the short- and long-term roadmap of the Project Management Office in collaboration with other PMO Directors and the Managing Director, Operations
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration : Liaise with internal and external departments to build, scale, and support PMO growth
  • Operational Excellence : Ensure project management practices align with company standards and operational objectives. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes and productivity
  • Financial Management : Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting to ensure financial targets are met and identify opportunities for cost reduction and margin enhancement
  • Project Coordination : Coordinate and allocate projects using a structured approach, ensuring clear schedules, budgets, expectations, communication, and follow-ups for efficient and profitable delivery
  • Quality Assurance : Ensure the quality and consistency of projects and systems by applying Solotech’s standards and contractual requirements
  • Compliance & Risk Management : Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies while identifying and mitigating operational and business risks
  • Stakeholder Engagement : Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, vendors, and internal stakeholders
  • Performance Analysis : Analyze business sector performance, recommend solutions to operational challenges, and present cost-benefit analyses
  • Operational Standardization : Standardize project management and coordination operations to maximize efficiency and return on invested resources
  • Management Practices & Leadership : Implement best management practices, including continuous improvement techniques and KPIs, to evaluate labor and equipment utilization. Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to support employee development
  • Team Management : Lead and manage a large team of Project Managers and Project Coordinators across the region
  • Budget Preparation : Collaborate with the Managing Director of Operations and other leaders to prepare, enforce, and manage the annual departmental budget
  • HR Collaboration : Partner with HR on workforce management, employee mobility, skills development, succession planning, and recruitment
  • Health & Safety : Ensure the development, implementation, and enforcement of workplace health and safety policies
  • Continuous Improvement : Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and deploy continuous improvement and employee engagement initiatives
  • Negotiation Skills : Negotiate agreements with clients, service providers, and internal partners as required
  • Training & Development : Implement training programs to strengthen project management and operational capabilities
  • Technology Proficiency : Demonstrate proficiency in relevant project management and communication tools
  • Client & Supplier Resource : Act as a resource for clients and suppliers for procedural or customer service-related issues
  • Additional Responsibilities : Perform other related duties as required by management

Your profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification is highly preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a PMO leadership and management role
  • Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in project management
  • Experience in the Audio-Visual industry is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills, including the ability to manage virtual or hybrid teams and mobilize employees when required
  • Excellent employee management, team development, and coaching skills
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and influence cross-functional teams
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships at all levels of the organization and with external clients
  • Experience in change management and process improvement initiatives
  • Ability to effectively manage frequent and/or unexpected changes
  • Strong ability to anticipate challenges and implement effective solutions while adhering to company policies and business processes
  • Expert-level proficiency in the MS Office suite, including Microsoft Project
  • Ability to read and interpret shop plans and technical drawings
  • Experience with Microsoft D365 is a plus
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
