Paralegal Manager Intellectual Property
Our growing Intellectual Property law firm client is seeking an experienced Paralegal Manager to lead and develop their paralegal team. This role is ideal for a seasoned IP paralegal with strong leadership skills who thrives in a fast-paced, high-performance legal environment.
About the Role
The Paralegal Manager oversees paralegal workflow, productivity, and professional development across the firm. You will collaborate closely with attorneys and the Director of Administration to allocate work, maintain quality standards, ensure compliance with client procedures, and support the ongoing development of our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and mentor the paralegal team.
- Manage workload distribution and support attorneys by assigning projects and ensuring timely, accurate completion.
- Oversee training for new paralegals and support staff; update training programs as needed.
- Implement and monitor compliance with firm policies, client procedures, and best practices.
- Prepare production, capacity, and administrative reports for management.
- Ensure paralegal processes (back docket review, checklists, spreadsheets, etc.) are followed consistently.
- Partner with leadership on staffing levels, performance evaluations, and identifying promotable talent.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience as an IP paralegal or in a similar role.
- Prior supervisory experience managing multiple paralegals.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Proficient with legal software, document management tools, and Microsoft Word/Excel.
- Ability to handle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
