Sound of Earth is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit working at the intersection of arts, culture, and climate action to catalyze peace through environmental transformation. Through media platforms like Sound of Earth Radio and Records, plus community events ranging from EcoSundays to Sound of Earth Fest, we amplify voices in the environmental movement and create spaces where music and climate action converge. We also provide consulting for initiatives like LA Climate Week and are building a digital platform to connect changemakers with sustainability resources. Committed to whole-system sustainability and radical diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility, we practice what we preach—leaving no trace at gatherings, sourcing locally, and training community leaders. Through music and community, we’re building a movement for environmental justice one connection at a time. Position Overview

As a Grants & Funding Strategist Intern, you’ll support the organization’s financial sustainability by identifying funding opportunities, developing compelling grant proposals, and managing the grant application process. You’ll gain hands‑on experience in nonprofit fundraising and learn how strategic financial planning can advance environmental initiatives. Key Responsibilities

Research and identify potential grant opportunities aligned with organizational mission Draft and refine grant proposals with clear financial asks Track grant application timelines and submission requirements Assist in preparing financial documentation and impact reports Collaborate with team members to align grant strategies with project scopes Preferred Skills & Interests

Interest in nonprofit fundraising, grant writing, or financial strategy Strong research and analytical skills Excellent written communication and attention to detail Ability to articulate complex project needs concisely Collaborative mindset and openness to diverse perspectives Familiarity with financial documentation and research tools Ability to work collaboratively and independently Students from a wide range of disciplines are encouraged to apply. Experience or coursework in fields such as nonprofit management, public policy, finance, environmental studies, social entrepreneurship, or grant writing may be helpful but is not required. Commitment
