Interview individuals in studio and field settings, ensuring accuracy and context.

Create short‑form edits from long‑form projects for social media.

Develop content optimized for social media platforms, including metadata and SEO‑optimized titles and descriptions.

Work with the content team to review performance and adapt strategies based on community feedback and trends.

Collaborate effortlessly with other media outlets, reporters, freelance talent, community leaders, and organizations.

Secondary Responsibilities

Engage and attend community events or forums to stay connected to local stories.

Pitch creative ideas for new projects and social content.

Support Nine PBS programs and specials when extra help is needed.

Perform duties that require flexibility and provide assistance as needed.

Work closely with other producers and departments to share and accept ideas and feedback.

Add simple animations such as opens/closes, lower thirds, and titles to enhance video quality.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree preferred with 2 years of experience, or associate’s degree with more than 3 years of experience in production, communications, multimedia, or related fields.

Strong storytelling fundamentals: researching, writing, directing, and interviewing.

Experience creating video content for social media and broadcast.

High comfort level on camera for interviews or hosting segments.

Ability to operate cameras for single and two‑camera shoots and interviews.

Familiarity with lighting setups for interviews and field shoots.

Proficient in editing software such as Final Cut, Adobe Premiere, or DaVinci Resolve.

Knowledge of TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube best practices.

Organized and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Familiarity with project‑management tools such as Monday.com or similar platforms.

Hybrid Schedule This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule. Expected to be in the office 2‑3 days per week, attend all‑staff meetings in person, along with team meetings and shoots. Flexible remote work options are available for editing and planning.
