We are seeking a Resident Lifestyle Assistant to support resident engagement at our Sycamore Glen Campus. In this role, you will assist with planning, organizing, and leading activities that promote social connection, creativity, movement, and overall well-being for our residents. You’ll work closely with the Director of Resident Lifestyle and/or Resident Lifestyle Coordinator to help create an inclusive, engaging, and joyful environment where residents feel encouraged to participate, express themselves, and build meaningful relationships. This is not a behind-the-scenes role. As a Resident Lifestyle Assistant, you will be actively involved with residents—supporting daily activities, special events, and community outings that enrich their quality of life.

You have a high school diploma or GED and experience—or strong interest—in assisting with activities and programs, preferably with older adults.

You understand the importance of safety, supervision, and compliance, including safe transportation of residents.

Responsibilities

Initiates and promotes a variety of activities both within and outside the facility to stimulate and promote resident interest, communication, and general wellbeing.

Encourages hobbies, instructs and supervises craft activities among residents, in groups or individually, in recreational areas or in residents’ rooms.

Complies with safety regulations and policies.

Assists with parties, provide games and encourages residents to assist in the planning, such as making table decorations, wrapping gifts, trimming room or area, and other similar activities.

Encourages residents to participate in religious activities to fulfill their basic spiritual needs, through visits with local ministers, attendance at religious services whenever possible, spiritual reading material, and others.

Encourages intellectual/educational development through literature, lectures, movies, cultural events, and other activities available in the community.

Provides prompt and accurate response to staff, resident, and family inquiries for information while always honoring confidentiality.

Must be familiar with OSHA Blood-borne Pathogen Standard and Company’s Exposure Control policy.

Assists the Director of Resident Lifestyle/Resident Lifestyle Coordinator with special events and functions.

Supervises and transports residents during indoor and outdoor activities and community outings.

Maintains resident activities documentation and charting as delegated by the Coordinator.

Carries out evening and weekend functions.

Prepares the activity area, equipment, and supplies.

Orders, maintains, and storages equipment and supplies

All other duties as assigned and/or appropriate to the position.

Qualifications

Education: High Diploma or GED

Licenses or other required certifications: None

Experience: 1 year or less experience in leading and assisting with a variety of activities and programs, preferably with older adults

Computer literate and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Excellent communication skills in working with residents, employees, families, and the public

Ability to be flexible, display dedication, sensitivity, patience, honesty, imagination, and resourcefulness

Ability to multi-task and work in an environment of changing demands and frequent interruptions

Ability to work independently and as a team member

Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule, including some evenings and weekends

Must be organized and detailed oriented

Must have knowledge of safe operation of vehicles when transporting residents
