The
Senior Graphic Designer - Art Director
is a very hands‑on, high execution‑focused creative role responsible for designing and delivering a wide range of brand and marketing assets across B2B and B2C channels. This role may be filled at either the Senior Graphic Designer or Art Director level depending on experience. At its core, it is a hands‑on design role, producing a wide range of assets from retail and trade marketing materials, multi‑channel digital assets, and merchandise while working closely with the VP of Marketing, internal stakeholders and design team. At the Art Director level, the role takes on greater responsibility for creative direction, defining visual approaches, guiding execution and ensuring cohesion across projects and channels. This is ideal for a senior designer who thrives in a fast‑moving, brand‑led environment, values ownership and accountability, and wants real influence on how a growing lifestyle brand visually shows up in the world.
Key Responsibilities Hands‑On Design (Primary Focus) Designing a Wide Range Of Assets Including
New product launch assets
Retail & trade marketing materials
POP displays/signage and event build‑outs
E‑mail templates (Klaviyo or similar)
Social media and digital campaign assets
Packaging extensions and light branding work
Merchandise and apparel
Execute projects from concept through final production.
Ensure all work aligns with Claybourne Co’s brand standards and visual tone.
Creative Ownership & Collaboration
Translate business and marketing goals into strong visual solutions
Partner with VP of Marketing on brand‑defining initiatives
Work cross‑functionally with product, sales and operations
Maintain consistency across multiple product lines and channels
Team Support & Leadership
Collaborate with and provide feedback to other designers
Contribute to elevating overall creative quality and consistency
Coordinate and manage project timeliness
At the Art Director level, lead creative direction on assigned initiatives and guide execution across formats
Art Director
Execute projects, owning creative direction for projects end‑to‑end with guidance from the VP of Marketing
Set visual direction before design begins
Reduce options, making clear and creative decisions
Act as a brand steward across channels
Mentor other designers and elevate overall creative output
Bring near‑final work forward for leadership review
Basic Qualifications
6‑10+ years of professional graphic design experience (brand, in‑house and/or agency)
Strong portfolio demonstrating brand systems, marketing and retail design, typography, layout, and visual storytelling with deep experience designing for both print and digital
Highly organized and able to practice clear and open communication
Comfort working in a fast‑paced environment without sacrificing quality
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), e‑mail and digital asset workflows and print production
Experience in consumer brands, lifestyle or CPG is a plus
Demonstrated innovative thinking and execution with a strong attention to detail
Cannabis industry experience a plus but not required
Ability to travel, if needed
Compensation And Benefits
Base salary: $82,000 – $100,000
Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Life Insurance, Bonus Program
Schedule: Full‑time, Monday – Friday
Report to: VP Marketing / Creative Director
Work Location: Perris, CA (non‑remote)
