Description Promontory Club, a private luxury mountain club, located in Park City, Utah, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Irrigation Technician to join the Agronomy team at the Jack Nicklaus Signature Painted Valley golf course. This is a year-round, full-time position responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving the golf course irrigation system to ensure exceptional playing conditions throughout the season.

The Jack Nicklaus Signature course features a 8098-yard par-72 championship golf course featuring undulated greens, wide rolling fairways, and a robust native area. In Fall of 2025, a full course bunker renovation began, expected to finish in the summer of 2026.

Promontory Club is a high-end club which encompasses 11 square miles and features three golf courses, along with an unmatched suite of luxury amenities. Promontory has earned national acclaim as a premier destination community where world-class golf meets extraordinary mountain living.

Role and Responsibilities

Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a Toro irrigation system, including heads, valves, controllers, wiring, and pumps

Irrigation scheduling and daily spot watering to maintain firm and fast playing conditions

Assist with irrigation audits, system upgrades, and efficiency improvements

Routinely inspects irrigation system components to ensure proper performance.

Maintains irrigation parts inventory, work records, and record pump station statistics daily.

Assist Superintendent and Assistants in management and training of seasonal staff, including staff to help you perform your irrigation duties

Help blowout irrigation system in preparation for winter

Off-Season & Winter Responsibilities

Assist with snow plowing and snow removal in clubhouse parking lots and designated areas

Support off-season projects to prepare the golf course for the upcoming season

Assist the golf course mechanic in the shop as needed, including equipment maintenance and repairs

Participate in winter maintenance and facility improvement projects

Qualifications Qualifications & Skills

Working knowledge of golf course irrigation systems, valves, sprinkler heads, etc

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including winter conditions

Mechanical aptitude and basic equipment knowledge a plus

Valid driver’s license required

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor

High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required
