The Bridges Golf and Country Club is searching for a Head Golf Course Superintendent with a desire to be a part of a great team, a passion for turf care and takes pride in the product they display to the members and guests of the Club. The Superintendent position requires a strong attention to detail and a passion for creating and maintaining a top-tier golfing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and developing staff members, cultivating a productive work culture, and collaborating closely with the golf operations team to ensure an exceptional playing experience for both members and guests on a daily basis.
A key aspect of the role involves general turf grass care, where the Superintendent will be entrusted with maintaining the quality and aesthetics of the playing surfaces. Additionally, responsibilities will include managing irrigation systems, ensure their proper maintenance and swift repairs when needed. The Superintendent will need to be easily accessible to both staff and members, addressing any concerns or inquiries promptly and effectively.
The ideal candidate for this role will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a proactive mindset when it comes to problem-solving. A background in turf management or related field is preferred, along with a proven track record of successful turf maintenance and staff management. The Bridges Golf and Country Club is a wonderful Jack Nicklaus design Championship golf course located just north of the San Juan Mountain range in Montrose, CO. It boasts incredible views from the entire property. The quality Nicklaus design layout and excellent course conditions, make The Bridges a favorite of the golfing community around the Montrose and western slope area. With canals and streams that run through the property, irrigation water is plentiful and available for use. The ponds and lakes add challenge and beauty to a well-designed and difficult golf course.
Montrose, CO and nearby areas, offer incredible outdoor activities, skiing, hiking, camping, biking, fishing, etc., home of The Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, and a wonderful community to live in.
Knowledge of Rain Bird irrigation software and components
Knowledge of irrigation repair and installation
Pump system maintenance and operation
Fertilizer and Chemical applications
Ability to determine fertility and disease/weed control programs
Construction experience related to building tees, bunker renovation and drainage additions and solutions.
Knowledge of equipment repair and maintenance / coordinate with mechanic on maintenance program. (Familiar with John Deere and Toro equipment)
