The Senior Director of Learning Instructional Design and Course Creation creates and drives the design, development, and curation of learning experiences that build growth skills across Pfizer. This role oversees a multidisciplinary team of curriculum designers, content developers, instructional designers, and project managers, leveraging internal talent and external contractors to deliver high‑quality, scalable learning solutions. This role ensures alignment with L&D team’s strategy, drives innovation in learning methodologies, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement and digital fluency.
Job Responsibilities: Learning Solutions Leadership
Define and execute the vision for growth learning programs
Oversee end‑to‑end content lifecycle: design, development, curation, and maintenance
Ensure accessibility, inclusivity, and alignment with organizational standards
Team Management
Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team focusing on a culture of collaboration and accountability
Manage resource allocation, including contractor engagement
Provide guidance on solution development best practices
Innovation & Technology Integration
Embed AI‑driven tools and adaptive learning technologies into program design
Stay ahead of emerging trends in learning technology and incorporate best practices
Quality & Impact Measurement
Use data analytics to measure learning effectiveness and inform continuous improvement
Implement feedback loops to refine content and delivery strategies
Budget & Vendor Management
Manage budgets for content development and vendor partnerships
Negotiate and maintain relationships with external providers
Qualifications: BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in an applicable discipline
12+ years of relevant experience in instructional design and learning
Experience building and developing high‑performing teams
Change agent able to influence, provide guidance, strategic assistance and collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams and leaders
Exercises foresight and judgment in making complex decisions
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and ability to present to senior level executives
Integrates AI into the flow of daily work
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or Master’s degree in a related field is a plus.
Experience leading transformational initiatives in large‑scale life sciences organizations
Demonstrated breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $214,900.00 to $341,100.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 22.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share‑based long‑term incentive program.
