Key Responsibilities
Preconstruction services and estimate preparation for assigned projects.
Lead the development of complex cost estimates for competitive bids and negotiated proposals for multiple projects.
Estimating projects which typically range from $500,000.00 to 50 million dollars.
Coordinate and lead the preparation and assembly of complete, well formatted estimate presentation/ report amongst all team members.
Estimate self-performed work
and pricing the labor, equipment, and material costs for sitework, concrete, masonry, rough carpentry, etc.
Attend pre-bid meetings to determine the scope of work and required contents for the estimate.
Perform/manage document distribution - Ensure complete inventory of documents; distribute plans, specifications and all other pertinent documents to subcontractors; ensure sub information needs are met.
Prepare subcontractor / vendor list; update subcontractor / vendor database as necessary
Issue bid invitations to subs / vendors - Ensure adequate bid coverage for each trade package, generate interest and get commitments on sub participation.
Appropriately address questions to architects / engineers for clarification
Key Requirements
Strong technological ability.
5+ years project estimating experience with a general contractor
3+ years
Masonry estimating
experience.
Organized and analytical thinker with ability to work as a team.
Strong working proficiency using estimating and takeoff software, such as, On-Screen Takeoff, Planswift. Additional software experience in Timberline, Bluebeam, and Microsoft programs specifically including Excel.
