TUMO Los Angeles is seeking a creative, youth-facing Social Media & Content Coordinator to own and grow our digital presence across platforms, building brand awareness by documenting and sharing student work, programs, and daily activity at the center.
This role is responsible for managing TUMO LA’s online presence across social media and newsletters, in close collaboration with leadership on content direction and final approvals.
Start Date February 2026
Hours / Location Full-time, on-site in North Hollywood.
Workweek: Tuesday–Saturday.
Must be available for evening student sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday and all day student sessions on Saturdays.
Compensation [Full time salaried role] $65,000 - $70,000 per year

About TUMO TUMO is a nonprofit, global network of after-school learning centers serving approximately 40,000 teens each week across 10 countries, with centers in Paris, Berlin, Lisbon, Buenos Aires, Yerevan, Amsterdam, and more. TUMO Los Angeles is the first U.S. location, made possible with support from the State of California and the City of Los Angeles.
TUMO students (ages 12–18) attend the center after school to explore technology and design through self-learning activities, hands-on workshops, and project-based labs, all free of charge. TUMO LA opened in October 2025 and currently serves 600 students per week.
Responsibilities
Own TUMO LA’s social media presence across platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn, ensuring consistent, high-quality, brand-aligned content.
Plan and execute content strategy and campaigns that reflect the student experience, programming, and key moments at the center, while building brand awareness among teens, families, and the Los Angeles community.
Capture, create, and curate original photo and video content, collaborating with students on trend-driven content and student-led initiatives such as Instagram takeovers.
Write engaging captions, copy, and short-form content that authentically reflects TUMO’s voice and values.
Manage day-to-day community engagement across social platforms, including responding to comments and direct messages and identifying opportunities for meaningful external engagement or partnerships.
Design, write, and distribute a monthly newsletter, including content planning, layout/design, scheduling, and performance tracking.
Track performance metrics across social media and newsletters, using insights to refine content and improve engagement.
Collaborate closely with the Center Manager and CEO on content direction, voice, and final approval of outward-facing communications.
Requirements
Demonstrated experience creating social media content (portfolio, links, or samples required)
Strong understanding of short-form video, visual storytelling, and social platforms
Comfortable working in a youth-centered, fast-moving environment
Creative, organized, and reliable
Strong writing and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively while taking ownership of day-to-day execution
Additional Requirements Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check
TB clearance will be required prior to start date, in accordance with California regulations
