The Role We're seeking an Outside Sales Representative to join our Houston, Texas operations. In this high-impact role, you'll be responsible for selling pumps, filtration systems, and fluid-handling equipment, managing a defined territory, and building long-term client relationships. If you have experience in equipment rentals and thrive in a fast-paced, relationship-driven sales environment, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities of an Outside Sales Representative

Prospect and close new business while expanding existing customer accounts

Promote CPE's rental equipment-including pumps and filtration systems-to commercial, industrial, and municipal clients

Manage the full sales cycle: cold calling, quoting, site visits, presentations, and contract negotiation

Conduct weekly equipment demos (Tow-n-Shows) and monthly customer Lunch & Learns

Provide consistent follow-up, weekly sales reporting, and active call tracking

Host and participate in sales blitzes focused on target accounts and territories

Stay active in trade associations and attend monthly networking events and trade shows

Support after-hours/emergency sales calls to ensure customer satisfaction and uptime

Coordinate with internal stakeholders including branch managers and operations teams

Maintain a well-branded company vehicle stocked with up-to-date sales collateral

What You'll Bring as an Outside Sales Representative

High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, or a related field preferred

5+ years of B2B sales experience in rental equipment, industrial services, or construction equipment

Specific experience selling pumps, filtration systems, or related equipment is strongly preferred

Strong consultative sales and relationship management skills

Proven ability to meet and exceed revenue targets

Proficient in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage a territory independently
