Director Enterprise Portfolio Manager
Church Pension Group (CPG) is a financial services organization that serves the Episcopal Church, located in Midtown Manhattan. CPG was founded in 1917 to provide pension benefits to eligible clergy of the Episcopal Church. Since then, its mission has expanded to include life and disability insurance, health benefits, property & casualty insurance, and publishing.
Responsibilities
Portfolio Planning and Management : Ensure that all projects and programs within the enterprise portfolio align with the strategic plan, collaborating with senior leadership to set and adjust strategic direction. Oversee the selection, prioritization, and scheduling of projects based on business values, dependencies, and strategic importance while managing resource constraints.
Resource Management : Support the Resource Management Office with the allocation of resources efficiently across projects to maximize value delivery, as needed. Ensure that resource utilization aligns with BU/CU/ITS portfolio priorities.
Stakeholder Management : Communicate enterprise portfolio performance, risks, and changes to stakeholders while managing stakeholder expectations and maintaining strong relationships. Manage the impact of changes within the enterprise portfolio to ensure smooth transitions and change adoption.
Project Financial Management : Provide oversight, monitoring and reporting of the enterprise portfolio financials, including budget vs. forecast and cash‑flow management. Work closely with the Project Managers and Resource Management Office for project status and impact.
Risk and Dependency Management : Oversee interdependencies, assess risks, identify mitigation strategies and contingency plans, and ensure adaptive responses to changing conditions.
Governance, Performance Monitoring and Reporting : Establish and enforce enterprise portfolio and project governance frameworks. Track and report on portfolio performance. Conduct regular reviews and audits to assess portfolio health.
Continuous Improvement : Encourage and support continuous improvement initiatives within the enterprise portfolio. Foster a culture where feedback is valued and lessons learned are applied to enhance performance.
Effective performance of the essential functions of this position requires regular in‑person, on‑site interaction with colleagues for relationship building and meaningful collaboration.

Qualifications
Ability to effectively improve operations and processes across the enterprise for project planning and management.
Strong financial management and analytical skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Strong experience with scoping, development of budgets and schedules for complex programs/projects with multiple workstreams.
Ability to develop and direct strategic planning to meet organizational goals, providing overall strategic governance for projects by establishing standards, processes, and tools used for effective delivery.
Ability to establish methodologies to set productivity and quality targets and to assess results for all projects within the enterprise portfolio.
Ability to respond to escalated project issues that may impede delivery and coordinate solutions across the portfolio.
Ability to monitor and analyze project metrics to identify weaknesses or problems and to propose operational improvements and cost savings for future projects within the portfolio.
Education & Experience
BA/BS required.
Portfolio Management or Project Management Certification preferred.
10+ years of Project Management or Operations Experience.
Proven experience with different types of projects and deliverables, including strategic presentations, creative concepting and development, video, digital, influence, event‑based programs and vendor integrations.
Physical Demands Extensive use of a computer keyboard is a demand of the position to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
Work Environment Currently, a hybrid work environment that requires working in CPG’s office Tuesdays through Thursdays and flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Salary Salary Range: $150,000 - $195,000
