OPEN JOB: Clinical Director of Adult Medicine
Location: Hartford, Connecticut
Salary: $220,000 - $301,275

- Role is 50% administrative and 50% direct patient care.
- Monday to Friday 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM; no weekends, no nights.
- 8 direct reports; 45 total staff.
- Suitable candidates: M.D. with board cert in Family or Internal Medicine, with minimal admin experience.
DESCRIPTION
- Lead adult medicine department ensuring highest quality of patient care and clinical excellence. Although requiring substantial experience, we recognize talent and potential in candidates with limited admin experience.
- Adult Medicine Department Diabetes Program recognized by NCQA; top-performing Ryan White program and robust Care Coordination Team.
- Report to Chief Medical Officer, collaborate with Nurse Manager, Practice Manager, and Director of Infectious Diseases for oversight and leadership.
- Support continuous improvement of clinical operations, provider workflow, patient satisfaction, and financial performance.
- Deliver direct clinical care as well as administrative oversight.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
- Willingness and ability to deliver high quality patient care efficiently.
- Comfort with quality care for underserved populations with complex needs.
- Relevant business experience, especially in a large health center or private practice as Director/Associate Director.
- Experience with recruitment, onboarding, retention, and discipline of clinical providers and staff.
- Familiarity with compliance issues related to specific clinical expertise.
- Experience supervising advanced practitioners (APRNs, PAs).
- Demonstrated ability in developing and participating in strategic department goals.
- Experience nurturing a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and collaboration.
- A quality focus, including professional practice evaluation.
- Superior communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with staff, patients, and partners.
- Aptitude for collecting, analyzing, and presenting data; comfortable making evidence-based decisions.
- Experience making value-added contributions to enterprise projects.
- Skill with electronic health record systems.
- Exercise initiative, judgment, and discretion to help achieve objectives.
- Resourceful, problem‑solving attitude; willing to be accountable.
