Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Drive the development of the next‑generation compute platforms supporting advanced machine learning workloads, balancing performance, efficiency, and scalability.
- Translate evolving model requirements and workload characteristics into clear product requirements, making informed trade‑offs across compute, memory, and system constraints.
- Drive execution across engineering, research, and software teams, aligning hardware capabilities with model and developer needs from concept through launch.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Review identified gaps in market based on complex analyses of overall ecosystem demands and make portfolio decisions on how these gaps impact product roadmaps.
- Validate business cases based on a thorough understanding of internal and external influences and assist in determining product development that advances the roadmap.
- Drive product line launch strategies for new products and technologies through technical marketing opportunities such as conferences, congresses, and direct customer contact and ensure successful product launch.
- Prepare and deliver highly complex and high‑stakes technical presentations regarding product roadmaps that explain and demonstrate products to customers, and integrate customer feedback into project roadmaps.
- Monitor the market to validate product roadmaps and translate these into changes and adjustments for the roadmap.
- Oversee the development of multiple, complex products and ensure cross‑functional communication of product development goals, ensuring products and roadmap are differentiated using input from customers, market, competitors, and technology advancements.
- Review development and definition activities for multiple new and emerging technology product portfolios, including determination of cost and impact, and continually review ROI of specific products.
- Drive the development of long‑term innovation strategies for products and drive IP strategies while maintaining the best interest of customers and alignment to the product roadmap.
- Communicate regularly with internal customers, third‑party vendors, and senior management to establish needs and goals, and execute communication/change management plan for stakeholders, management, and executives.
- Oversee successful cross‑functional collaboration by ensuring the completion of milestones by engineering teams and other internal partners, ensuring the completed work aligns with roadmap for a product line(s).
- Collaborate with key stakeholders and program sponsors to develop product goals (e.g., performance, cost, timeline, customer schedules), discuss product feasibility, and facilitate cross‑functional decision making for product lines.
Level of Responsibility
- Working independently with no supervision.
- Making significant decisions that influence overall program or project success, finances, and/or the ability to meet objectives; errors are not readily apparent due to complexity of work or time between decisions and results.
- Use verbal and written communication skills to convey complex and/or detailed information to multiple individuals or audiences with differing knowledge levels; may require strong negotiation and influence.
- Some financial accountability (e.g., manages a small budget, has input into P&L).
- Has a great degree of influence over key organizational decisions.
- Completes tasks that require multiple steps and simultaneous execution of multiple cognitive abilities while maintaining information in short- or long-term memory.
- Regularly determines what needs to be done and shares innovative solutions to achieve broad policies and objectives.
- Uses deductive and inductive problem solving; advanced data analysis and interpretation skills are required.
- Develops, redesigns organizational strategies and provides overall direction for various functional areas and/or entire organization; has influence over the formulation and achievement of long-term business plans and objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
- 15+ years of Product Management or related work experience.
- 4+ years of working in a large matrixed organization.
- 2+ years of working with operating budgets and/or project financials.
- 2+ years of negotiating 3rd party business agreements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Humanities, or related field.
- 8+ years of Product Management or related work experience.
Pay Range and Other Compensation & Benefits
$196,000.00 – $294,000.00
The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Salary is one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. Additional compensation may include a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and RSU grants. Qualified employees may also receive competitive benefits designed to support success at work, at home, and at play.
