Piper Companies is seeking a Director of Business Development to join a growing leader in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology space for a remote permanent position based out of New York . The Director of Business Development will be responsible for driving new client acquisition by selling clinical research services to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, leveraging their CRO industry experience.
Responsibilities
- Drive business growth by securing new partnerships with biotech and pharma clients.
- Focus on high-value accounts with deal sizes ranging from $2M to $10M, with potential for $30M–$40M global programs.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align sales strategy with operational capabilities.
- Represent the company at industry events and client meetings.
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of experience in sales within the CRO (Contract Research Organization) industry.
- Proven track record of closing large-scale clinical trial deals.
- Strong understanding of therapeutic areas including oncology, immunology, and neurology.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Compensation
- Salary Range: $180,000-$200,000/year (USD) + commission
- Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, sick leave if required by law, and 401K
