As a Vice President of Business Advocacy, you will serve as a high-impact strategic partner, bridging the gap between global policy and commercial success by transforming complex regulatory risks into competitive opportunities that drive the firm’s growth and operational priorities.
Job Responsibilities
- Act as a primary business liaison to the Global Government Relations team, translating policy developments into actionable business strategies and commercial opportunities.
- Collaborate with GR and business leaders to identify and prioritize advocacy initiatives that support the firm’s commercial goals and market positioning.
- Analyze the business impact of legislative and regulatory changes, providing clear recommendations to senior management and business units.
- Support the design and execution of advocacy campaigns and projects that advance the firm’s business interests, ensuring alignment with policy priorities.
- Develop and present business cases, resource plans, and performance metrics for advocacy initiatives, supporting effective decision-making and resource allocation.
- Monitor and report on the progress of advocacy projects, ensuring timely execution and measurable outcomes.
- Prepare briefing materials, presentations, and memos for senior management, focusing on the commercial implications of policy issues.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders across Lines of Business, Corporate functions, and strategy teams, as well as with GR, Legal, Compliance, and Risk Management partners.
- Proactively identify and help mitigate business risks arising from political or reputational developments.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 6 years of experience in business strategy, management consulting, or commercial roles within the private sector.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to influence and interact with colleagues at all levels.
- Knowledge of, or passion for, consumer payments products.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives concurrently.
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of how policy impacts business operations and growth.
- Self-starter who works independently and drives deliverables.
- Proven ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Results-oriented, intellectually curious, with keen attention to detail and a bias towards action.
- Ability to interview subject matter experts, synthesize large amounts of information, and communicate research to senior leadership in multiple formats.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, OneDrive).
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience working with or alongside Government Relations, Legal, or Compliance teams.
- Familiarity with financial services and a range of policy issues.
- Exposure to government, policy, or non-profit organizations.
