Our client is a leading multinational construction and engineering services provider with a strong presence across the Middle East and internationally. Employing over 100,000 professionals, they deliver complex and large-scale projects across a range of key sectors, including Oil and Gas, Infrastructure, Industrial, Data Centres, Healthcare, and Commercial Construction. They are currently looking for an MEP Project Director to join them on a project in Rwanda.
Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the successful delivery of complex MEP projects, including Data Centres, ensuring alignment with client objectives, contractual obligations, and company goals.
- Oversee all phases of the project lifecycle, from pre-construction through to handover, ensuring key milestones, quality standards, budgets, and timelines are achieved for MEP systems installation and commissioning.
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, including MEP construction, commercial, design, planning, procurement, and HSEQ functions, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the client and key stakeholders, managing relationships, expectations, and communication to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
- Take full responsibility for MEP project governance, commercial performance, risk management, and compliance with legal, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor MEP project progress and proactively address any deviations, challenges, or risks through timely decision-making and corrective action in collaboration with senior leadership.
- Champion health, safety, environmental, and quality standards across the project, ensuring they are embedded into all aspects of MEP planning and delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and best practices across MEP project delivery, contributing to organisational learning and future project optimisation.
Qualifications
- Degree in MEP Engineering, Construction, or a related field.
- 15+ years of experience in delivering large-scale MEP projects, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven ability to manage complex MEP projects and teams in Rwanda or East Africa.
- Excellent project management skills, with a track record of delivering MEP projects on time and within budget.
- Familiarity with MEP project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
