Utility Coordination and Design Business Class Director

HDR’s Transportation Business Group focuses on designing resilient infrastructure and advancing mobility solutions that move people and goods safely, efficiently, and sustainably. As a leader within the Utility Coordination and Design Business Class, you will technically drive the delivery of products and services, positioning HDR as a preferred provider in this domain.

Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly coordination calls with Business Class leadership and section managers.
  • Support the development of the Utility Coordination and Design Business Class.
  • Identify upcoming projects and pursuits that require national Business Class support.
  • Review workload and availability of business class staff.
  • Analyze utilization reports to identify staffing needs and support hiring/workshare decisions.
  • Participate in Project Approach and Resource (PARR) reviews and evaluations.
  • Conduct project reviews or audits to validate quality practices and recommend remedial actions.
  • Serve as the focal point for the Transportation Business Group to deliver related services across complementary business classes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of related professional experience.
  • Professional or engineering registration and demonstrated technical experience.
  • Experience developing and managing diverse teams.
  • Ability to collaborate with other business class directors, operations managers, technical directors, and marketing managers.
  • Commitment to quality, improvement, and HDR values.
  • Active participation in an employee‑owned culture.

Travel

Estimated travel requirement 15%, varying monthly between 15% and 25%.

Compensation

US: $163,422–$337,222; Canada: $209,622–$313,720 (depending on location and experience).
