Kemper is one of the nation's leading specialized insurers. Our success is a direct reflection of the talented and diverse people who make a positive difference in the lives of our customers every day. We believe that a high-performing culture, combined with valuable opportunities for personal development and professional challenge, and a healthy work-life balance, can be highly motivating and productive. Kemper's products and services are making a real difference to our customers, who have unique and evolving needs. By joining our team, you will help provide an experience to our stakeholders that delivers on our promises. This is a full-time field role with benefits. As a Life Insurance Sales Agent, you will be dedicated to serving the insurance needs of modest-income families. Your journey begins with a paid training period where we provide the tools and guidance needed to study for and pass the licensing exams. Once licensed, you will be assigned an existing book of business, a portfolio of current customers from whom you'll collect monthly premiums. You'll earn a percentage of the premiums you collect, as well as a commission on all new sales you make. Through hard work and dedication, you can increase your monthly income with every new sale. If you're passionate about serving the underserved, this is the career for you. Our agents gain personal satisfaction and community prestige by performing meaningful work that helps clients protect the people and property they cherish. With a pay-for-performance compensation model, agents have the opportunity to determine their own paycheck. As your skills and knowledge grow, so does your potential for increased income. Superior performance is recognized through awards, prizes, and company-sponsored trips. Kemper offers competitive benefits, including major medical and dental insurance, group life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, 401(k) with company match, paid vacation, and an employee stock purchase program. Responsibilities include conducting sales presentations, recommending products, and closing new sales; prospecting for new sales opportunities; maintaining strong customer relationships by collecting premiums on a pre-arranged schedule; responding promptly to service requests such as beneficiary changes, claims, and loans; and record keeping, accounting for money collected, and processing policy paperwork. Agent expectations include growing the assigned territory through new sales, building strong working relationships with customers, devoting the time necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the role, and pursuing continuous professional development in insurance products and sales effectiveness. Minimum qualifications include customer service experience, being at least 18 years of age, a valid driver's license with required auto insurance coverage, a dependable vehicle for daily travel, ability to pass a background check, motor vehicle report, and drug screening, and authorization to work in the United States. Preparation includes licensing, training, and on-the-job training. We provide free access to study tools and professional guidance to help you prepare for licensing exams. New agents complete an onboarding development program that includes self-study, classroom instruction, and field mentoring by your Sales Manager. Earn a paycheck while learning your profession through hands-on experience. Kemper is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. All applicants will be considered for employment without attention to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran status, disability status, or any other status protected by the laws or regulations in the locations where we operate.
