Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort & Spa in Ojo Caliente, NM is looking for positive, professional, and energetic Springs Ambassador to join its team! This description documents the general nature and level of work. As business needs change, so will the elements of this job, requiring the incumbent to be adaptable and to perform other duties as required. Summary: A Springs Ambassador encourages an atmosphere of tranquility and relaxation while stewarding our sacred and historical mineral springs. The ambassador must be able to communicate clearly, effectively, and graciously the protocols of conduct that guests must adhere to while visiting the springs. The ambassador will interact with guests in the springs area to positively enhance their spa experience and familiarize them with the offerings at Ojo Caliente. The Springs Ambassador supports Spa and Springs Management in oversight of the spa and springs functions, activities, and overall quality control. A Springs Ambassador will be a friendly, outgoing, well-traveled, and eloquent communicator with knowledge of all resort amenities and local area attractions. Using conflict resolution skills and diplomacy, the Springs Ambassador will handle guest issues and requests. The natural ability to speak comfortably with visitors of varied backgrounds and cultures is essential. The Ambassador emanates gracious hospitality. An Ambassador is someone who embraces a healthy lifestyle and can speak to guests about the healing qualities of Ojo Caliente's mineral springs. The incumbent is responsible for modeling and acting in accordance with Ojo Caliente Holdings, Inc. Essential Job Functions / Responsibilities: Assist Management with spa and springs activities, special projects, and other responsibilities as needed Have comprehensive knowledge of and a complete understanding of all spa, springs, and resort services and amenities. Escort and tour guests through spa, springs, and resort facility as needed. Ensures water stations are always filled with fresh water and cups. Keeps pools skimmed and pool decks free of trash and debris. Arranges and aligns seating to ensure it is tidy and recognizable as available for guests. Communicate with Management regarding any guest requests or concerns. Accommodates and handles guest requests efficiently and timely. Handle daily paperwork, as directed. Open and close the spa using provided checklists. Ensure entire department including pool decks, locker rooms, private pools, and all guest areas are immaculate at all times. Communicate visitor protocols of conduct to guest(s) when needed per Ojo Caliente guidelines. Understand first aid/emergency procedures and be able to direct guests accordingly. Be a steward of Ojo's sacred waters by encouraging an atmosphere of tranquility and relaxation. Welcome all guests and introduce them to the springs area. Answer their questions and help them navigate the area. Share Ojo Caliente's rich and storied history Assist with spa appointment questions, private pool bookings, and special event information. Perform Springs and Pool Attendant, Locker Room Cleaner, and other duties as needed, or as directed by Management. Cross-trains with Spa Supervisor, Spa Attendants, Spa Reception Associates, and other positions to create a seamless guest experience. Report for work in the department's issued uniform. Wear your name tag. Supervision: Supervise team members, under the direction, in collaboration with other supervisors, and in the absence of department Management. In conjunction with other supervisors and department Management, assist in overseeing the activities of other shift team members to have a successful opening and closing of the Spa. Creates a positive learning environment by providing clear, specific, timely, and respectful coaching and feedback to shift team members, to ensure operational excellence, and to improve overall performance. Provides manager/s with reports on accomplishments and matters of concern about shift team members Supports team members, by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching, as needed. Assists with training new workers by motivating and helping the new employee while simultaneously making sure that they understand the correct way of going about their daily tasks. Maintains a calm demeanor when confronted with difficult situations to set a positive example for team members. Develops positive relationships with shift team by understanding and addressing individual motivation, needs, and concerns. Supports the Manager/s in evaluating staff performance issues and taking disciplinary action when approved by Management Requirements Qualifications: Minimum of one year of spa, springs, or aquatic facility experience preferred. CPR and First Aid preferred. College Degree or equivalent life experience. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus. Reliability and punctuality are critical. Desire to ensure the best guest experience. Being well-traveled a plus. Strong interpersonal skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Computer and technology proficient in spa information systems, MS Outlook, Word, Excel, etc. Ability and willingness to follow Management's instructions. Ability to work under pressure with a high level of patience and empathy. This is a year-round, outdoor position. Must be able to work in all weather conditions and temperatures. The position requires manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills, the ability to create written and oral instructions and procedures, and the ability to speak and communicate clearly. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, sit, reach, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, and push/pull/lift items weighing up to 60 pounds. This role requires the ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, auditory focus, and visual attention. This job summary is not intended to be all-inclusive.
