Senior Therapeutic Support Specialist (Residential Services) – Job Code: 2025-237 Location: Brewster Main Campus Department: Residential Life Status: Regular Full Time (40 hrs/wk) Responsibilities
The Senior Therapeutic Support Specialist is responsible for supporting the Therapeutic Support Supervisor in directing and guiding the work of Therapeutic Support Specialists and assisting children who exhibit academic, social, emotional, and/or behavioral challenges. The Senior Therapeutic Support Specialist is responsible for responding to behavioral crisis situations and to intervene directly when corrective action is needed, utilizing proper Therapeutic Crisis Intervention techniques. They are responsible for ensuring youth are provided with individualized services geared towards returning them to regular programming. The Senior Therapeutic Support Specialist is responsible for overseeing PBIS and Restorative Practice implementation and development for the department in collaboration with the Program Supervisor, as well as the day-to-day function and support of the Supervisor in the implementation of programming for Residential Therapeutic Support Services. Minimum Qualifications
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or related human services field OR Associate’s Degree in a related human services field and Two years’ experience in providing direct services to children with serious emotional disturbances. Will consider candidates without a degree based on experience working with children with serious emotional disturbances. Must demonstrate supervisory experience and direct care experience to be considered. Licensure/Certification: Certified as a Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) Trainer, or able to become a trainer Valid driver’s license and clean driving record This is a full time benefit eligible position and the rate of pay is $25.50 to $26.50 depending on education level and experience.
