JOB REQUIREMENTS – Lead Carpenter / Working Jobsite Manager
Lead Carpenter is the on‑site manager responsible for ensuring smooth operation of Mark Miller Construction, LLC (MMC) projects with a focus on quality, safety, timeliness and profitability.
Description – Purpose of Position Ensure the smooth operation of MMC projects with attention to quality, detail and complete customer satisfaction. Provide effective material handling, on‑site safety and bring each MMC project to a timely and profitable completion.
Qualifications & Physical Requirements
At least five years of carpentry experience, including thorough understanding of rough‑ and finish carpentry and all trades associated with home remodeling.
Ability and willingness to work in a team and to interact with other MMC employees and clients.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written) are vital.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Working knowledge of home remodeling from demolition to finish carpentry.
Physical fitness and ability to perform a wide variety of tasks in any weather condition; lift and carry up to 100 lbs of lumber, equipment and other materials for up to 50 yards on rough, uneven terrain; work above 8 feet heights.
Good written and verbal communication in English.
Reasoning ability: able to listen and follow directions.

Duties and Responsibilities Perform carpentry tasks with the highest quality craftsmanship within the allotted time. Keep informed of the entire project scope, including revisions, change orders and schedule changes. Lead a team of carpenters and/or carpenter assistants in remodeling tasks.
Act as the working jobsite manager: ensure jobsite safety, cleanliness, security and protection from the elements. Maintain a first aid kit on site, check the job site daily, and communicate any discrepancies to the owner. Inform the owner of specialty items needed. Represent the principles of Mark Miller Construction LLC, avoid smoking on the job and hold team members accountable for performance, actions and appearance.
Maintain production in accordance with plans and specifications. Participate and prepare for on‑site meetings with client and owner. Daily communication via cell phone texting/photos and email as needed. Maintain a positive attitude, problem‑solve independently and adapt to adversity.
