Packaged Gases Customer Service Representative - San Marcos, CA
Position Summary: Manages sales campaigns with the intent of either scheduling appointments for sales to improve sales productivity or gaining business via direct quotes/follow-up. Assesses customer satisfaction with MTG products and services through surveys and provides insights for addressing customer concerns. Works closely with SBU Sales Leaders, Sales, Corporate Marketing, and Customer Service.
Position Accountabilities: Place outbound calls to schedule appointments for sales with new or existing customers, notify sales of appointment times, and follow up with courtesy calls to determine customer satisfaction/needs. Provide quotes or complete sales directly if campaign appropriate to gain new business. Identify problematic situations or opportunities that could protect or yield new business for MTG and communicate this information to the appropriate function for follow-up. Restock store merchandise as needed, arrange stock on shelves or racks, keep merchandise in order, and mark/ticket merchandise. Manage requests for products, pricing, and technical information. Assist in warehouse tasks such as shipping & receiving, inventory stocking, cleaning, and labeling. Maintain showroom cleanliness according to management procedures. Identify sources of leads and manage pre-qualification in collaboration with sales and marketing. Track results of outbound campaign efforts. Support inbound customer service as needed. Comply with all DOT and OSHA regulations and observe safety rules strictly. Perform other projects and duties as assigned. Qualifications: High school diploma and/or prior experience in outbound calling, inside sales, outside sales, or marketing is desirable. Excellent customer service skills and ability to manage customer relationships. Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines. Effective communication skills for explaining information to customers and employees. Basic math skills for handling measurements and transactions. Ability to learn MTG’s business, products, organization, and systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). Physical Demands: Frequently stationary and moving/traversing. Occasionally seated, transporting/lifting, carrying, exerting force, reaching, handling, and positioning tasks.
