Overview

We are looking for an experienced, hands‑on, pragmatic and proactive lawyer who enjoys advising on and negotiating a broad variety of commercial contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Focus on commercial technology contracts.
  • Provide legal advice on a variety of matters with primary emphasis on drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements for customers, partners and suppliers.
  • Review, draft and negotiate various standard and non‑standard contracts and related documents in support of business needs and initiatives. Representative agreement types include software licensing agreements, Master Services Agreements, NDAs, vendor agreements, marketing agreements, distribution, resale and other channel agreements.
  • Identify commercial, legal and compliance risks arising from existing and contemplated commercial transactions and initiatives.
  • Monitor legal, legislative and regulatory trends applicable to the business (e.g., data privacy, security and data protection laws).
  • Work with other departments across the globe to ensure consistency of advice.
  • Report matters as required to the Legal Director.
  • Lead additional legal and compliance projects as requested.

Requirements

  • Law degree from an accredited law school and active licence to practice law.
  • 8+ years in a similar role.
  • Excellent written and oral, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and prioritize high‑priority tasks.
  • Ability to hit the ground running and enjoy working alongside senior stakeholders.
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Prior in‑house experience in a fast‑paced environment working to tight deadlines.
  • Enthusiastic and self‑motivated with strong problem‑solving skills and a helpful attitude.
  • Understanding of business challenges and ability to develop sensible and commercially reasonable compromise positions.
  • International experience and data privacy expertise are desired but not essential.
