Our client, a wholesale apparel brand, is seeking an Assistant Designer to join their team in NYC!
Responsibilities
Support the design team in executing the full collection from initial concept through final production.
Create detailed sketches for new and existing styles.
Assist heavily with tech packs, ensuring all sketches, callouts, and updates remain accurate throughout development.
Help with CAD work including updating prints, colorways, layouts, and presentation boards.
Support production approvals, including reviewing trims, fabrics, lab dips, strike-offs, and communicating comments.
Assist with fits, taking notes during fit sessions and ensuring revisions are clearly passed along to Technical Design and overseas partners.
Conduct trend research aligned with brand direction.
Maintain daily communication with overseas factories regarding samples, trims, fabrics, and development needs.
Keep the showroom organized, updated, and visually merchandised.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in an apparel design role.
Strong CAD and graphic skills; proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent hand and digital sketching abilities.
Highly organized with strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities.
Creative, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to all stages of the design process.
