Job Summary Reporting to the Director of Alumni Engagement, the Alumni Engagement Coordinator leads the development and execution of a comprehensive alumni communications strategy in partnership with key stakeholders to ensure consistent, thoughtful messaging aligned with departmental goals. Responsibilities include creating integrated communication plans for events, programs, and volunteer opportunities, managing digital communications such as email campaigns, website content, and e‑newsletters, designing and producing marketing materials using design tools like Canva and Adobe, and managing social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) to engage alumni and track metrics to measure success. The position also utilizes a CRM system to manage constituent data, generate reports, and support targeted outreach efforts. Some travel is required to support program needs.
Responsibilities
Alumni Communications Strategy & Execution
– Collaborate with PAE, the Director of Communications for PAE, and Communications & Marketing colleagues to create an annual strategy for alumni communications that is consistent and thoughtful. Develop integrated communications plans for events and programmatic activity to align with the overall divisional calendar and strategy, and execute a comprehensive array of communications related to programming, volunteer opportunities, and alumni benefits, collaborating with embedded communication representatives.
Integrated Digital Communications Development
– Develop, implement, and maintain a dynamic, clearly defined digital communications strategy aligned with other University departments, including but not limited to email communication, website content creation and management, and e‑newsletters.
Design and Development
– Proactively collaborate, brainstorm, and strategize with multiple teams/clients to create and design a wide range of marketing and communications materials, including invitations, online form development, signage, and direct mail. Experience working with design platforms (Canva, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.).
Social Media Engagement
– Content creator for all social media platforms used to engage alumni including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Manage and enhance the platforms to engage with alumni and embed metrics annually to measure the success of each platform.
Data Management
– Utilize a CRM system to track and manage constituent data, generate reports, and create targeted lists or queries. Leverage the CRM for email outreach and ongoing communication with constituents.
Program Development and Brand Promotion
– Manage the Alumni Owned Business program, highlighting and sharing businesses and recruiting new businesses and Alumni Bookshelf. Spearhead all promotional items for Alumni Engagement by designing and purchasing items through approved vendors in collaboration with communications and marketing. Some travel required.
Perform all other related duties/tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in business, communication, professional writing, journalism, marketing or a related field with a minimum of one year of demonstrated experience in professional writing, communication, digital media, or related professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree.
Three to five years' related experience.
Graphic design software knowledge is a plus (Indesign).
Prior experience in private college/university advancement and/or alumni relations.
Experience in fundraising or fundraising support (preferably higher education fundraising).
Knowledge of software used for fundraising/alumni data and an understanding of information management in a database structure (especially Raiser's Edge).
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Ability to work independently to solve problems, handle confidential information, and navigate sensitive situations.
Requires adaptability, good judgment and initiative.
Excellent oral, written, and grammatical communication skills.
Highly developed computer skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and constituent related software.
Ability to multi‑task, think creatively and handle a heavy workload.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational skills, attention to detail, analytical abilities.
A high energy level, integrity and sincerity.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for events.
Compensation and Benefits Shift: Days/M‑F (work outside of normal business hours will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position) Pay Band: B10 Salary Range: $52,500/annually – $61,855.04/annually Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum‑midpoint) of the position. Recruitment Period: 11/13/25 – Until Filled Augusta University offers a variety of benefits to full‑time benefits‑eligible employees and some of our half‑time (or more) employees.
