
Kutak Rock LLP seeks a detail-oriented Real Estate Paralegal in our Omaha, NE office. This position will work with lawyers whose practices relate to general real estate, commercial lending, and corporate matters. The qualified individual will primarily be involved in financial and real estate transactions, including assisting with general due diligence matters, preparing for and closing transactions and organizing and monitoring post-closing tasks and is ideal for the experienced professional who enjoys working in a collaborative and collegial environment.
Responsibilities
Provide assistance in preparation for and closing of various commercial lending and real estate transactions
Prepare distribution lists and initial drafts of documents, certificates and opinions
Assemble, coordinate, summarize, index and proofread documents from various commercial lending and real estate sources
Prepare, file, track and maintain UCC filings; handle UCC filing research requests in all states
Coordinate execution and delivery of documents, including organization and preparation of closing transcripts/binders
Prepare and update status reports and checklists, as necessary, on pending and closed transactions
Coordinate receipt of, organize, and conduct initial reviews of due diligence documents including real estate and title materials
Handle routine correspondence and maintain telephone contact with clients
Organize and maintain electronic and paper filing
Handle accounting responsibilities
Consult with the supervising lawyer(s) whenever a legal judgment, legal opinion, or legal advice is necessary
Assist with other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS: Skills and Abilities
Ability to organize large quantities of information
Ability to work well under the pressures of deadlines and prioritize assignments
Ability to thrive on challenges of fast-paced environment
Ability to work both collaboratively as part of a team and independently or unsupervised
Strong attention to detail
Excellent spelling, grammar, and proofreading skills
Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to handle documents and other information with confidentiality and discretion
Excellent interpersonal skills with an aptitude to interface with attorneys, clients, staff, and firm visitors
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products, especially Excel and PowerPoint
QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience
High school (or equivalent) required; preference given to those with a bachelor’s degree and/or successful completion of an accredited legal assistant or paralegal program
Preference given to those with related work experience in real estate or law firm/internal corporate law department
Experience with project and information management preferred

Salary Range:
$53,000-$75,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience
Work Arrangement:
Hybrid 4:1, with Manager approval
