Overview
The Inside Strategic Account Specialist (STAS) plays a critical role in supporting customer accounts and serving as the liaison between clients and internal teams—Supply Chain, Engineering, and Manufacturing. This role combines customer service, sales strategy execution, and operational coordination to drive account retention and growth.
You’ll be responsible for maintaining product and market knowledge, supporting the sales pipeline, and ensuring the customer experience is seamless across every touchpoint.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts
Drive sales across varied accounts, product lines, and markets
Develop and execute strategies to retain and grow customer relationships
Manage purchase orders, quotes, and customer documentation
Use SAP and Customer Portals to align customer demand with supply
Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Estimating teams
Provide guidance and subject matter expertise to Customer Service Representatives
Generate and submit reports using SAP and other tools
Troubleshoot and resolve customer concerns proactively and professionally
Demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills
Collaborate with field sales to achieve revenue goals
Accurately track time, attend required meetings, and follow internal policies
Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred (may substitute for experience)
2+ years of experience in sales support or customer service
SAP experience preferred
Bearing knowledge a plus
Strong data entry, organization, and multitasking skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems
Excellent verbal and written communication
Ability to work independently and manage changing priorities
Additional Information
This is a salaried, bonus-eligible position
Regular, punctual attendance required
Some reports and responsibilities require use of ADP, SAP, and internal tools
Must be comfortable working cross-functionally with internal departments
