The Automotive Account Manager is responsible for managing current business from a sales perspective as well as developing new business opportunities. Disciplinary reporting to the Key Account Manager. The Account Manager will work across customers with defined product lines.

Responsibilities

Manage existing business for assigned customers

Identify new opportunities to provide products and services to existing customers

Identify and communicate customer product and technology requirements to appropriate Marquardt personnel. Voice of Customer

Respond to requests for quotes, providing detailed price quotes on prospective business opportunities

Active participation during the organizational goals for yearly sales for assigned OEM(s) and associated Tiers

Execute strategic plans to ensure long-term growth in both existing and potential new markets

Build long-term relationships with existing and prospective customers, including key personnel in engineering, R&D, manufacturing, and purchasing

Achieve assigned sales, account development, and other targets

Develop and maintain various strategic growth metrics

Monitors and assure timely delivery of prototype samples

Generates annual cost saving/cost sharing proposals to the customer in order to meet the productivity goals stated in the customer contracts

Negotiate and track pricing changes

Required Skills and Knowledge:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or engineering

7+ years' experience in components/systems sales for Stellantis or VW Group or Toyota, including their customer portal (esupplierconnect)

Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

Nice to have: J/K OEM and/or EV OEM experience

Computer skills, including the use of Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, SAP and customer sales portals

Thorough understanding of Human‑Machine Interface, Lighting and related mechatronic products

Advanced verbal communication skills, including group presentation, negotiation, and influencing

Advanced management skills, including planning and organization, decision‑making, problem solving, and project management

Advanced knowledge of sales and closing techniques

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, distributors, sales representatives, managers, and the general public

Ability to prepare complex written reports and other documents

Ability to comprehend complex verbal and written instructions

Accuracy and attention to detail

Exceptional time management, organization, and planning

Independent problem solving and analysis
