The Assistant Director of Graduate Student Success position is aligned with important university retention and completion goals, whereby the Assistant Director provides differentiated student support to their caseload of graduate students, considering adult learning theory and the needs of this specific population. The Assistant Director serves as a bridge between graduate students and faculty, providing a relentless welcome to support the graduate student experience.
Through the understanding of persistence research and predictive modeling, the Assistant Director will proactively and strategically outreach to all students with the following goals:
**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:*** Using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform, monitor the progress and performance of students on caseload and deploy interventions based on a differentiated care model* Create friendly, professional relationships with new and returning students for assigned graduate programs.* Make appropriate referrals and connections within the university* Provide administrative, logistical, and student support in registration, course selection, persistence risk, and general success strategies* Coordinate data analysis and strategic communication with graduate students in collaboration with Associate Director* Assist in the training of new faculty/staff advisors at Xavier, support faculty/staff in the use of advising software, create and publish reports, use data to effectively inform decisions, aid in the supervision of student staff, serve on committees, and more**JOB REQUIREMENTS:*** Master’s degree, preferably in Counseling, Social Work, Higher Education or similar* 1- 3 years in a similar role with comparable goals and responsibilities* Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities* Excellent writing and analytical skills* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with aptitude to learn new software and systemsTo ensure consideration, qualified/interested applicants must submit a cover letter and resume on Xavier University's website.
