The
Estate Sales Pricing Specialist
ensures that all estate sale items are valued and priced accurately to maximize profitability while appealing to buyers. This role requires market research, product knowledge, and a structured approach to valuation. A successful Pricing Specialist balances the client’s goal of maximizing estate proceeds with fair-market buyer expectations. Key Responsibilities
Item Research & Valuation Research item values using auction sites, resale markets, antique databases, and current trends. Establish fair and competitive pricing strategies (retail vs. liquidation value). Accurately tag all items with clear and legible price markers. Strategic Pricing Decisions Develop pricing tiers for categories such as furniture, jewelry, collectibles, and household goods. Identify and flag high-value or unique items for special marketing or security. Establish markdown schedules (e.g., Day 2 = 25% off, Day 3 = 50% off) if directed. Collaboration Work with the Sales Team to explain pricing rationale and ensure consistency. Communicate with Register/Cashier staff regarding instructions for high-value items. Support marketing staff with descriptions/photos for pre-sale advertising. Accountability & Reporting Maintain documentation of pricing strategy and item categories for transparency. Provide post-sale reports summarizing pricing outcomes and unsold inventory, when needed. Ensure all item tags align with POS/cash register system coding. What We’re Looking For
Ethical, patient, and punctual. Strong customer service orientation. Willingness to learn and apply product pricing methods. Ability to take direction and follow processes efficiently. Flexible work hours and locations (sales vary week to week). Qualifications
Background in antiques, collectibles, retail pricing, or appraisal strongly preferred. Strong analytical and research skills with attention to detail. Familiarity with resale platforms (eBay, Etsy, 1stDibs, WorthPoint, LiveAuctioneers). Excellent organizational skills and consistency in execution. 1–3 years of retail, sales, customer service, or estate sale experience preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to lift 30+ lbs, stand, and walk for 6–8 hours. Availability on weekends and early mornings. Must have reliable transportation. Why Join Our Team
