You will play a key role in shaping and executing consumer communication strategies that educate shoppers about Klarna’s products, services, and responsible spending tools. You’ll focus on translating complex financial concepts and products into clear, engaging consumer narratives, ensuring that Klarna is positioned as a global digital bank and a trusted, everyday shopping, banking and payments partner.
Your responsibilities will include:
Developing and executing consumer communication strategies that enhance consumer understanding of Klarna’s products and reinforce Klarna as a smart way to shop, pay and bank - more than just BNPL.
Owning and driving media relations, proactively pitching Klarna’s product innovations, shopping features, and financial tools to consumer, lifestyle, and business press.
Crafting compelling consumer messaging, ensuring Klarna’s products are easy to understand and resonate with different audiences.
Leading Klarna’s product education efforts in-market, working closely with external PR agencies to ensure consistent, high-impact execution.
Supporting product and merchant launches, shopping tools, and financial education initiatives, ensuring the right narratives reach media and consumers at the right time.
Monitoring media coverage, consumer sentiment, and industry trends to identify opportunities, mitigate risks and address inaccuracies when they appear.
Collaborating cross-functionally with product marketing, corporate communications, merchant success teams and leadership to align messaging and ensure accuracy.
Who you are Experienced product communicator
with a background in consumer, product, or fintech communications, and a strong grasp of media relations.
Skilled at simplifying complex product and financial topics
into clear, engaging messages that resonate with consumers and the press.
Culturally aware
and tapped into current trends, with a sharp eye for timely, relevant storytelling opportunities and an understanding of how earned media and social media influence each other.
Strategic and collaborative , comfortable operating with real autonomy, confident in your decisions yet collaborative by default, balancing business objectives with cross-functional input to deliver impactful communication.
Curious and adaptable , leveraging data and emerging tools like AI to continuously evolve communication approaches.
Awesome to have Agency experience working with consumer technology, fintech, payments, e-commerce, or retail products.
A strong understanding of how to communicate product benefits to consumers in an engaging and digestible way.
Previous experience managing agency relationships and driving high-quality output.
Passion for helping consumers make informed financial decisions and get the most out of their shopping experience.
